Ancillary: magazine template

In a similar fashion to my poster, I have created a magazine cover template to help me create the ancillary product; during my ancillary research, I ensured that I had knowledge on the codes and conventions of film magazines so that I could include these in my product. I am using an already existing house style from an exclusive film magazine that is aimed towards a female audience, as I felt that creating an ancillary that is aimed towards the target audience of the film would target the chosen demographic and further hook them into watching the film, through exclusively targeted adverts. Following the existing house style and a convention of many film magazines, I developed the product to adhere to the rule of three; this has been split into 3 vertical sections, the left, centre and right to draw the audiences eye across the screen and ensure that they are exposed to as much of the information as possible. Stereotypical of almost all magazines, I have place the mast head at the top of the magazine cover to be written in large typography; this becomes one of the first things that the audience sees and advertises the magazine company, leaving the audience to make the association between the company name and the contents of the magazine.

The main image will cover the entirety of the page, with the focal point being the figure of Nicole; this will cover the central third of the magazine an be one of the main attractions that the audience see when looking at the cover. Surrounding the main image, the left and right thirds will contain the cover lines of featuring stories within the magazine to entice the audience to buy the product in order to access the internal articles. I have made the decision to include the website address of the magazine internet site, as in today's society a vast amount of the general population are tech savvy, and so it will help to product to reach a wider demographic.
