When deciding the font of the titles, we chose 'AppleMyungjo', a serif typography that has little connotations but looks sharp and clear, effectively delivering the message we want to convey to the audience. We created a grey background that changes in gradient over each title, which changes in darkness over each consecutive title; this creates a sense of foreshadowing that a sinister event may occur, as dark colours connote danger.
The second title follows a similar theme to the one prior, with the darkness of the title decreasing to a darker grey, foreshadowing the future events. The text follows on from the title before, using the second part of the quite that started in the first title slate. The quote continues with 'But sometimes it isn't meant to last'. The change in tone of the quote suggests that something is going to happen that will negatively effect the relationship of the protagonist; this can be linked with the disruption of the narrative, conforming to Todorov's theory.
The third set of titles became darker still, with a brighter gradient in the centre of the title slate; this creates a bold effect that is eye catching for the audience and so will draw attention to what is written. However the white centre may have connotations of light in the dark, portraying that there may be something positive during times of hardship; this related to binary opposites, such as good vs evil. Following. conventional feature of film trailers, we decided to include information on the directors previous work, making reference to already published films that have a good reputation, "By The Creators Of; The Boy Next Door"; this helps to give the upcoming film a better prestige when it comes to release, as fans of previous work are likely to enjoy something that has been created by the same creators.
The penultimate title within the sequence was the name reveal of the film. This is a key title that is included in all film trailers, as it allows the audience to refer to a name when discussing the film with other people; it gives the film an identity. Conventionally, titles are located towards the end of the trailer as it encourages the audience to continue watching until they find out the name at the end - because of this, we have decided to follow the convention and also place it at the end to create suspense. The title is all black, which has connotations of darkness and sincerity, and we used the same typography as we have throughout the trailer, to help us keep continuity and smoothness when transitioning from one to the other. The text is written in a light grey as we felt that bright white would be too vibrant to use for the title. "Revisit"is enlarged compared to the other title slates, and we have spaced out the letters' this ensures the letters are spread across the screen to give a bold and impacting effect.
